Oahu Wedding Guide: Venues, Vendors, Tips & More

As a Hawaii Wedding Officiant based on Oahu, I am here to tell you the reasons why I think you should get married on Oahu! The island of Oahu, where I live, is a part of the Hawaiian Kingdom. It is also known as the “The gathering place”.

My perspective as a Wedding Officiant based in Hawaii:

What is great about getting married on Oahu is that it has a little bit of everything. Here you can experience the wonder that is the natural beauty of the islands. You can also experience the convenience of city lifestyle where you can eat at great restaurants and experience night life. There’s a little bit of everything here. Your wedding experience can be one where you submerse yourselves in nature, submerse yourselves in the city, or do a bit of both! As your Hawaii Wedding Officiant, I have so many suggestions for you. It all depends on your wedding day vision.

If you decide have your wedding on Oahu, or in Hawaii in general, I strongly encourage you to book vendors who are local and/or Kanaka (Native Hawaiian) to support local business owners. If you are ready to start to plan, here are the names of some of my favorite vendors on the island.

Some of my favorite vendors:

Officiant: ME! Click “contact” on my website to begin the booking process of booking me for your dream day.

Planners: The Gay Agenda. They are a queer, Kanaka (Native Hawaiian) & Wahine (woman) owned business and they are the shit!

Florals: Lulu’s Lei + Bouquets. They are a super quaint flower shop on the North Shore. They put so much time and thought into their arrangements and it shows. Also wahine owned!

Venue: Ka’ala Vista. This is a hidden, family-owened venue with seriously stunning mountain views. I am dying to get back to officiate here.

Rentals: Ambient Rentals. Another wahine owned business run by two sisters. They are super fun to work with and their inventory is out of this world. Also wahine owned!

Photog: Chelsea Stratso. She is my buisness parter for my officiating buisness, Wild and Free Elopements. Her gorgeous photos are featured are on this blog. She’s based in Cali and Hawaii!
